RAMA Impact enables finance for women-owned social enterprises in the Middle East and Africa. StardustConcept, through it’s connection with the HerMeNow accelerator, was tapped to develop the brand identity and build the website for this project.

/ the brief

Founded by an alum of the HerMeNow accelerator team, Tamara Ghandour, Rama Impact’s mission is to empower and uplift early stage women-owned high-impact social enterprises in the Middle East and Africa through tailored financial and non-financial solutions.

The company was founded by women for women, there was a desire for the visual identity to represent the breadth of femininity; its strength, beauty and adaptability.

/ the concept

In the earliest interviews, some ideas discussed included feminine presence, strength/resilience, transmutation (changing from one from into another), the state of creative flow, and pausing to understand deeper truths. Our goal became about clarifying these ideas into an easily recognizable form.

Our initial drafts explored well-known symbols of femininity such as the Triple Moon, Swan, Lioness, Asase Ye Duru and Fern.

yet we felt these weren’t fully representing the energy and strength that we initially set out to capture. We brainstormed until we found an idea out of left field - the lioness.

Nothing symbolizes feminine strength and power more than a Lioness. A Lioness also symbolizes unity, divine sisterhood (women standing up for women), protection, agility and divine feminine energy.

Our initial pass were inspired by african masks

While excited by this direction, the client wanted a better balance between abstract shapes and a literal representation of the lioness that represented the delicate balance between the feminine, strength, and divinity/royalty.
