The Locanda Le Piazze hotel in Tuscany sought our expertise in branding their scented candle that they had created in-house. This is the story of how we came up with the concept story and execution.

The team at Locanda Le Piazze had created a scented candle with a lot of care and thought. A custom scent was invented using only ingredients gathered from within the property that were native to the region.
They were very keen on the identity design to reflect the nature of the product and reflect its place as a product available exclusively to guests of the hotel. We imagined these candles as ambassadors - traveling across the globe into diverse sets of living spaces that would be enriched by their scent while representing the hotel to people who may never have visited before.

A scented candle that invokes a positive memory
The team at Locanda Le Piazze had created a scented candle with a lot of care and thought. A custom scent was invented using only ingredients gathered from within the property that were native to the region.

Recalling your visit to the property
Our research first focussed on the location of the hotel - its seasons, its history, astronomical elements that are visible from the property.
Ingredients sourced from within the property
We then moved onward to the ingredients. Ylang-Ylang is one of the core elements in the scent and we drew inspiration from the boldness of its color.
A search of cosmic proportions
The final element of our research, we were fascinated by the idea of looking upward to the heavens and co-mingling the intoxicating scent of the candle with the awesome sight of the nighttime sky. The next time you lit this candle, you needn’t be at Locanda in Tuscany. But you could still look upward at the night sky and reconnect with stars and your memories of Locanda.

As we learnt more about the meticulous craft involved in creating the scent, and the quality of service built into the team culture at Locanda Le Piazze, we found ourselves drawn to the idea of refined, elegant pieces of jewelry. If we were to represent the stars above the tuscan night sky, surely it must be in the form of elegant geometric forms?
